Meet the Class of 2018

Can you believe it? We’re the chosen five interns for the 2018 Ad Club Internship Hop. We are so excited to work and grow as a team over the next eight weeks. We can’t believe it’s already here but we are ready to get those creative juices flowing!

We may be getting to know each other a little bit more every day, but here’s a quick intro into our lives for you (yeah you, reading this blog) to learn more about us. We can’t wait to show you more into our adventure over the summer in fun and creative ways! Make sure you are following us on Ad Club STL’s Instagram Story to keep up with our Hop! @adclubstl

Hey there. My name is Alexis McCarthy, Lexi for short. I’ll be graduating from Lindenwood University in December (yay!) with a BA in Marketing and a minor in Advertising. St. Louis is my home, and I can’t wait to become apart of its vibrant advertising community during this internship. As the team’s Account Manager, I’m excited to embrace a role that utilizes both my business savvy and creative perspective. The Hop is such a great opportunity to learn new skills, connect with awesome professionals, and hopefully, discover where exactly I fit in this industry.

Hi! My name is Claire Nipper and I just graduated from Truman State University with a BFA in Visual Communications. Otherwise, known as Graphic Design. So, this summer I am an Art Director/Graphic Designer on the team. I am originally adopted from China when I was a baby but STL has always been my home. I’ve always loved art, and design allowed me to not only be creative in that capacity but also help others which I aim to make my main goal in what I want to do with my life. I am excited about getting to not only see but experience so many different places around my hometown and use this degree I worked so hard for.

Hello! I’m Marrissa, a Chicago-born, raised in Thailand for over 16 years. I enjoy watching Game of Thrones while eating Ferrero Rocher with a glass of Moscato. I recently graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis as a Media Studies major, emphasizing in Advertising. My passion, however, is photography and filmmaking. I am excited to gain real-world experience and expand my creative prowess through the Ad Club Internship Hop. I mean, where else can I intern at eight agencies in one time?

Hi! I’m Andrea Nicholson, but most people just call me Andy. I will be graduating in December 2018 from Lindenwood University with my BA in Advertising, Public Relations: Corporate Communications and a minor in Sociology. I am from Oklahoma, but I have made STL my new home since moving here for college. I’m really excited to get a lot of exposure and new connections by visiting eight agencies over the summer. I’m a writer, I’ve always been a writer, which makes me excited to serve the role of Copywriter for the Internship Hop. I’m hoping I can utilize this tool of mine to serve the team but also learn some new aspects of the industry from my fellow Hoppers.

Hi! I’m Jeffrey Salas, but I go by Deep as everyone else calls me. I am an international student from the Philippines. Since I am in the Advertising and Marketing Communications, MA program at Webster, I have solidified my marketing communications credentials and developed a greater understanding on the marriage of data and creativity.  I have always yearned to use technology to advance consumer’s lives and evaluate contemporary issues of communication. There are a number of uncertainties created by technological metamorphosis and being a marketing communications specialist allows me to bolster solutions in constituting sustainable good results for the majority, if not for everyone.
